Between a Rock and Hard Place

What's eating at my insides? Worry. The economy is still in the crapper and it's not getting any better. We are all in fear of losing our jobs and facing the uncertainty of what that would entail. The stress is getting to me. I MUST do something to solidify my future. The consequence of which might hurt some people in the process.

(Yes, I am being vague. Vague is what I have to be in order to talk about work-related crap.)

All I am saying is that I would do whatever it takes to make me and my wife happy. If that means that I disappoint a few people in the pursuit of our ultimate happiness, then so be it. I say this now to a blog, to an empty text box on a screen; but I mean it. I have worried too much and I am going to make sure that the worry stops.

Schools in Jeopardy?

I heard some unfortunate news today. It's quite possible that there will be major cutbacks in the spring semester for many California public education programs such as community colleges, etc. In a recent teacher's meeting at Cypress College, as a teacher confided in me, they disclosed that the state education budget deficit had increased 4 billion dollars in approx. a week, from 24 billion to 28 billion. There is a major possibility that many classes will be cut at Cypress College before they have their initial start date. These cuts will be made if students wait to enroll for their classes and do not sign up on their scheduled dates/times. Note to all Cypress College students: SIGN UP FOR CLASSES ASAP.

It's possible that some of the part-time teachers will lose there jobs.

Don't be surpirised when it happens, people, and start saying fairwell to those beloved part-timers who taught you so much. :{
